At The Encinitas Project, our mission is rooted in supporting the City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department and the vibrant community spaces they manage. We believe that public art is the soul of our neighborhoods, which is why we are proud to spotlight a special fundraising campaign by our friends at Encinitas Friends of the Arts (EFA).

The Mission: Save “Luminous Wave”
If you’ve walked near the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library, you’ve likely seen the stunning kinetic glass sculpture, “Luminous Wave” by local artist Deanne Sabeck. Originally installed as part of the City’s sculpture loan program, this piece has captured the heart of the Cardiff community.

Based on a recent city survey, the Cardiff community has spoken: they want this artwork to stay permanently.

A Win-Win for Cardiff Art
The Encinitas Project is excited to support this effort because it perfectly aligns with our goal of enhancing our local parks and cultural spaces. Here is the plan:

Through this fundraiser, “Luminous Wave” will be purchased to remain permanently on its current pedestal.

The City of Encinitas Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department will then install a brand-new pedestal elsewhere in Cardiff, ensuring the sculpture loan program continues to bring fresh, rotating art to our community.

How You Can Help
EFA needs to raise the final $10,000 to secure this coastal legacy sculpture. As a nonprofit that loves to see our local partners succeed, we encourage our supporters to contribute to this cause.
